The chairman of Manchester City, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, has stated that Rodrigo, a defensive midfield star, is very important to the way the first team team plays.
The Spaniard first joined the team in a high-profile summer deal from Atletico Madrid during the 2019 transfer window, and he has been a mainstay in the Premier League champions for the last five seasons.
When Rodri joined the team, duties at the Etihad Stadium were quite high due to the fact that the highly regarded Madrid graduate was expected to replace the iconic Fernandinho at the club.
Rodri has Now established himself as one of the greatest names in his industry thanks to his increased production at game-changing moments and midfield dominance. Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the chairman of Manchester City, is the most recent person to commend him.
“The level of standard of excellence is extraordinary,” Al Mubarak said during his annual end-of-season interview with ManCity.com, speaking off the back of yet another English top-flight success – City’s fourth in succession.
“He is extraordinary! The position he plays is not a glamorous position but he is absolutely fundamental to this team and one of the most critical reasons why we continue to win and succeed and achieve what we are achieving.”
Though officials in the Premier League champions’ recruitment staff are still searching for a more capable backup to Rodrigo than Kalvin Phillips; therefore, a defensive midfielder could still arrive at the Etihad this summer.
