Tottenham want to improve Thomas Frank’s squad in January, and the same can be said for Newcastle and Eddie Howe. However, it is now considered unlikely that either side brings in James Trafford from Man City.

Tottenham have concerns with Guglielmo Vicario after a number of high-profile errors this season, and this is also the case for Nick Pope at Newcastle. Both clubs are aware that a goalkeeper signing would make sense, but while they are each attentive to Trafford’s situation at the Etihad, they are unlikely to have an opportunity to make a move when the transfer window opens next month.
