Phil Foden, a lifelong fan of Manchester City, joined the team’s academy at the age of 4 and signed a scholarship in 2016. He made his senior debut in a Champions League game in 2017, coming on as a substitute.

In his first two seasons as a first-team player, Foden made several appearances in both the Champions League and the Premier League, scoring his first league goal against Tottenham. He gradually developed into a regular starter for City, scoring 5 goals in 8 matches between June and July 2020.

Foden’s breakthrough year came in the 2020/21 season, where he established himself as one of City’s main creative players, receiving the PFA Young Player of the Year award. He continued to progress, winning the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the Football Writers Association’s Footballer of the Year. With a contract until 2027, Foden looks set to continue making a significant impact at Manchester City.
