Erling Haaland signalled that he fully intends to honour his five-year contract, following his unveiling as a Manchester City player.

Haaland’s transfer was formally announced last month after City agreed a fee thought to be around £51million for the striker.

The 21-year-old signed a 5 year contract with the cityzens, but there have already been rumours concerning release clause in his contract.

Some reports suggest there may be a release clause in his City contract that activates in two years’ time, but his first comments as a Blues player indicate he may have little interest in utilising any such clause.

The striker was keen to emphasise that he wants to honour his contract with the sky blues in its entirety, which will have eased the minds of a few Man City fans, with it seeming unlikely he will be going anywhere within the next five years.

Speaking at his unveiling on Sunday, Haaland was asked if he was ready to stay five or ten years at the same club, to which he responded: “I signed a five-year deal, we start there!”

These Erling Haaland’s comments was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
