Both Stones and Lewis are hoping to start in the upcoming match against Finland to improve their match fitness. Lewis, who has been praised for his outstanding form, could establish himself as England’s first-choice right-back under interim manager Lee Carsley.
Despite his young age, Lewis has shown that he can perform well under pressure, as seen in his previous matches for Manchester City. If he starts against Finland, he may face nerves due to his lack of international experience, but is likely to settle into the game and showcase his skills. With Carsley expected to give Lewis his second start for England, he may be joined by Stones in the starting line-up as well, providing them both with an opportunity to prove themselves on the international stage.
