Most discussions have focused on teams taking Phillips on loan first, as his wages pose a challenge. It is unlikely that Phillips will remain at Manchester City beyond the summer transfer window, as Pep Guardiola does not seem to rate him as a player. A move to Galatasaray could provide Phillips with a fresh start and the opportunity to play in the Champions League, which may appeal to the midfielder.
