At 34 years old, Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has amassed 398 Premier League appearances, with 200 of them coming at City. In his eighth season at the Etihad Stadium, Walker has identified Jack Grealish as the biggest wind-up merchant in the City squad. Grealish, who was signed from Aston Villa for a club-record fee of £100m, has played alongside Walker in 79 matches and has a reputation for frustrating opponents with his antics on the pitch. Despite only making 20 Premier League appearances last season, Grealish drew the second-highest number of fouls in the City squad, possibly a result of his skill at getting under the skin of opponents.
In a recent episode of You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker, the right-back revealed that Grealish loves to wind people up, both on the pitch and in training. With 131 appearances for City, Grealish has scored 14 goals, provided 19 assists, and won multiple trophies under Pep Guardiola’s management. This close relationship between Walker and Grealish could explain why the defender knows how much Grealish enjoys getting under the skin of other players, contributing to his ability to draw fouls at a higher rate compared to his teammates.
