Manchester City ended their pre-season tour of the United States on a high note after a convincing 4-2 victory against Chelsea. Despite earlier defeats, including to Celtic and Barcelona, City can enter their FA Community Shield clash against Manchester United with confidence. Manager Pep Guardiola is satisfied with the team’s preparation for the upcoming season, having faced tough opponents that tested both their mental and physical strength. Meanwhile, Julian Alvarez, who missed the pre-season tour due to international commitments, is rumored to be leaving City, with Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested in signing him.
Alvarez may be concerned about his playing time at City next season, with competition from top players like De Bruyne, Foden, and Haaland. Despite starting in 31 games last season, Alvarez could find himself as a squad player in the upcoming campaign, which may not be ideal for his development and aspirations to play in big games. Juventus is also reportedly interested in signing Alvarez, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the Argentine forward’s future at Manchester City.
