Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club’s priority striker target this summer is Harry Kane despite reports of an imminent agreement with Erling Haaland.
Reports from England, Spain, and Germany have intensified surrounding the future of Erling Haaland in the last few days, with City presented as the club at the front of the queue for Haaland’s signature and a deal close to being done.
However, according to Sky Sports Germany as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchestrr City are ‘more interested’ Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane than Haaland.
Sky reported last week that City will make a new attempt to sign Harry Kane this summer, claiming he fits perfectly into Pep Guardiola’s system.
As we know, the Premier League champions did all they could to land the 28-year-old striker last summer but he remained at Tottenham and now has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal.
Despite recent reports of an imminent agreement with Erling Haaland, Sky Sport Germany are today continuing to run with the line that Man City’s priority striker target this summer is Harry Kane.
“It’s definitely crunch time,” journalist Marc Behrenbeck is reported as saying.
“It has already been reported in England that Haaland is about to move to Manchester City. Our information is different.
“If a transfer of Kane doesn’t work out, and that is very, very possible because the general situation is not easy either, then they go full for Haaland. One of the two should actually be at City.”
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
“Wonder why Sky Sports is so desperate for us to get Kane over Erling. These guys are reporting everything opposite of whats going on right now.”

“The Harry Kane saga is over.. That ship sailed long ago now. Sky are just playing the averages. Even admitting that if Kane doesn’t happen, then Haaland etc… They can’t lose, can they with that headline .. Think about it!.”

“I was all for Harry Kane to Man City but time has past! The train has left and Haaland is at the next station but unfortunately there’s another train called Real Madrid. I do hope we can put him in first class and offer better things 🤣🤣.”

“Pep loves Kane’s ability to be a 10, which Haaland doesnt have. Every time we play Spurs and they win Pep creams himself over Kane’s play.”
