Pep Guardiola says Manchester City’s transfer business is finished this summer, barring any further departures.
The Cityzens moved early in the window to secure the services of both Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, while Kalvin Phillips arrived from Leeds in a deal worth in excess of £40m. Left-back Sergio Gomez was also signed from Anderlecht earlier this week.
Meanwhile, City sanctioned the sales of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal, while Raheem Sterling joined Chelsea.
And Guardiola insists that his side’s transfer business has concluded this summer in the event of no further exits.
“Apparently yes,” the Spaniard replied when asked if City’s window was done. “But if someone moves or if there’s a problem that we don’t expect, it will maybe happen. But apparently.”
These Guardiola’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“Bit confusing that quote.. But think he’s saying that as of right now City are done (regarding transfers). But if something unexpected happens, they are ready to change plans.”
