Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez wants to leave the club this summer, with a price tag of around £60 million plus add-ons. Despite remaining on international duty with Argentina following the Copa America, speculation about his future continues to circulate. The 24-year-old’s successful performances at the tournament have left him with more to compete for, with Olympic Gold now in his sights.

The Athletic’s Sam Lee has reported that Alvarez’s desire to leave City stems from wanting more game time and a move to a warmer climate. Atletico Madrid, the primary suitors for Alvarez, are not willing to pay the asking price set by City. Rumors have also linked Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea with interest in the Argentine striker, but no concrete offers have been made.

Regardless of where Alvarez ends up, Manchester City supporters will not see him play in the pre-season tour or the FA Community Shield clash against Manchester United. If he competes in the Olympics, Alvarez may not return to City until mid-September due to a minimum three-week break after the tournament.
