Despite initially struggling to adapt to English football in his first season, Guardiola has since led City to unprecedented success, including winning a domestic treble and setting records for points earned in a single season. While other foreign managers have also excelled in the Premier League, none have been able to create a winning dynasty like Guardiola has.
One record that still eludes Guardiola is leading his side to an unbeaten season and winning the league, a feat achieved by Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ in 2004. Former Premier League player John Obi Mikel believes this is a record Guardiola is eager to break, and with City’s pursuit of greatness, it could serve as motivation for the team in the upcoming season. While replicating the ‘Invincibles’ unbeaten season may be challenging, Guardiola’s ambition and determination could drive City towards another league title victory.
