Jeremy Doku could arrive in the north-west as soon as this evening with a private jet scheduled to land in Manchester around 6:30PM on Tuesday.
The Belgium international winger saw his current club Stade Rennais reach an agreement with Manchester City over the last few days, shaking hands on a €65 million deal that will see Doku become the latest recruit in Pep Guardiola’s star-studded line-up.
City’s interest in the 21-year-old intensified from the start of August, after the reigning Premier League champions sanctioned the sale of Riyad Mahrez to Al Ahli for a fee understood to be worth in the region of £30 million.
Now Jeremy Doku is expected to become Manchester City’s third signing of the summer, following on from the arrivals of Croatian duo Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea, and Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.
With the first steps of his medical testing scheduled for Wednesday, according to reporting from Fabrizio Romano, Jérémy Doku is travelling to Manchester to have his medical ahead of his move to Manchester City.
The Belgian international is set to complete his medical tests on Wednesday, ahead of his pending move to the Etihad Stadium.
As per details provided by FlightRadar24, a Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign is due to travel from Paris to Manchester, departing the French capital at 6:30PM local time, and arriving in the north-west of England at approximately 6:36PM local time.
In a further detail, registered intermediary and brother Jefferson Doku was in Paris himself on Tuesday afternoon, hinting at the possibility that the team around Jeremy – the incoming Manchester City winger – are departing from Paris on the aforementioned flight.
Doku is likely to be available for Manchester City against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Sunday afternoon, however he will not be working with Pep Guardiola until after the international break.
The Catalan coach has undergone emergency surgery in Barcelona this week on a recent back problem, as confirmed by the club, and will leave first-team training duties and touchline commitments to his assistant Juanma Lillo while he recovers in his homeland over the course of the coming weeks.
