Manchester City has dominated Liverpool in the Premier League, finishing above them six times in the last seven seasons and winning the title four times in a row. With Liverpool aiming to reclaim the top spot under new manager Arne Slot, former Reds star Jamie Carragher has suggested that City players Nathan Ake and Josko Gvardiol would be perfect additions to the Liverpool squad. Carragher believes that a left-footed centre-back like Ake or Gvardiol, who can also play left-back, would provide balance and solidity to Liverpool’s defense.
Ake and Gvardiol are crucial players for City, with the versatile defenders making a total of 57 Premier League appearances last season. While Carragher may see them as ideal signings for Liverpool, it is unlikely that City would be willing to part ways with these key players anytime soon. Despite Liverpool’s need for a left-footed centre-back, they may have to look elsewhere to strengthen their defense as the duo continues to play pivotal roles for Guardiola’s side.
