Manchester City only made two signings, Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan, during the 2024 summer transfer window despite being linked with numerous players. One player they were interested in was Jamal Musiala, who revealed that Joshua Zirkzee tried to persuade him to join Manchester United instead. Musiala, however, remains focused on his goals with Bayern Munich and the German national team, indicating that he is happy at his current club and not thinking too much about his future.
Musiala’s impressive stats at Bayern, with 44 goals and 31 assists in 166 senior games, along with praise from former City defender Aymeric Laporte, highlight his talent. City should be relieved that Musiala did not follow Zirkzee’s advice and join their rivals at Old Trafford. It will be interesting to see if City make a move for Musiala in the future, now that he has spoken out about his commitment to Bayern.
