Many players have represented both Manchester City and Arsenal over the years, including big names like Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, and Gael Clichy. One such player is Patrick Vieira, who played for Arsenal for nine years before spending a year-and-a-half at City. Recently, former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere claimed that City’s Kevin De Bruyne is better than Vieira. Wilshere chose De Bruyne over Vieira in a winner-stays-on challenge, highlighting De Bruyne’s impressive goal contributions and trophy haul compared to Vieira’s achievements.
Vieira scored 32 goals and provided 50 assists in 405 appearances for Arsenal, winning three Premier League titles. In contrast, De Bruyne, a more attack-minded player, has scored 102 goals, assisted 170 times, and won six Premier League trophies. Despite not being a popular choice among Arsenal fans, Wilshere’s decision to pick De Bruyne over Vieira is understandable given the Belgian’s success and impact on the game. City’s Rodri also recently hailed De Bruyne as the greatest of all time, showcasing the admiration many hold for the talented midfielder.
