Manchester City’s star winger, Jack Grealish, met with his childhood hero and former Aston Villa star, Juan Pablo Angel.
Grealish spent a large part of his career at Aston Villa and helped thҽ club secure promotion to thҽ Premier League. He established himself as thҽ Villans’ star player in thҽ English top flight before his move to Man City.
Thҽ City star revealed his love for thҽ Angel in an Instagram story depicting himself arm in arm with thҽ 47-year-old.
Grealish captioned thҽ picture: “My first ever hero. If you know thҽn you know.
“Thҽre’s only one Juan Pablo Angel.”
Angel joined Villa from Argentinian outfit River Plate for a £7million fee in May 2001, and thҽ Colombian went on to become a Holte End favourite.
Despite initially struggling to adapt to life in England, scoring only once in his opening campaign thҽre, thҽ forward eventually settled.
Indeed, Angel ultimately netted 62 goals over a six-and-a-half-year spell with Villa, with thҽ highlight of his stay coming in thҽ 2003-04 season under David O’Leary, as thҽ club finished sixth in thҽ Premier League and reached thҽ semi-finals of thҽ League Cup.
Angel left Villa Park in April 2007, heading to thҽ United States where he played for New York Red Bulls, Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA.
