Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club’s plan for Jack Grealish in the summer was for him to play more in the central midfield position.
Since joining Manchester City for a record-breaking £100million, the Pep Guardiola’s most expensive signing has come under some heavy criticism recently.
Despite Guardiola having a constant desire to rotate his forward players, Grealish has actually played a lot of football especially on the left side since his move to the Etihad.
The 26-year-old has started in nine of City’s 10 Premier League games so far this term, as well as in all three of their Champions League ties so far.
According to Sam Lee for the Atletic, the plan in the summer was Jack Grealish would play more central for Manchester City eventually.
Circumstances have dictated he has mainly been used on the left wing, although it is understood he would like more of a run down the middle soon.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, with many wishing for him to start playing in the central midfield position.

Just play Foden on the left

He is absolutely useless on the left

I always figured this was the original intention, but Jack started out playing left wing bc of Foden’s injury & Pep has kept him there due to Phil being one of the best at F9 & Raz’s ongoing iffy form. Would like to see Jack in the middle ASAP, tbh.

Then he should play in midfield then

Foden is our most effective LW and the game against Liverpool proved it comfortably. Move KDB back to false 9 and let him cook
Question: is it better to play Foden in the middle with Grealish on the left or should it be Grealish in the middle with Foden on the left? What would benefit the team more?

Jack Grealish’s struggles continued even as Manchester City earned flattering win over Bruges.
Watching Grealish is becoming incredibly frustrating and even if Pep Guardiola is giving him time to adapt, City fans can reasonably demand that he comes good sooner rather than later.
