Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Lionel Messi will leave Barcelona with Manchester City front runners for his signature.
Messi has been linked with a move to the Etihad in the past, but the club has never made a genuine attempt to sign him – acknowledging his unique bond with the Catalans.
According to tycsports.com, Messi communicated to Barcelona via fax that he wants to leave the club, according to sources close to the player in Argentina.
The report adds City, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are ready to swoop after the 33-year-old indicated he wanted to use the clause which allows him to terminate his contract and leave on a free transfer,
The report however claims Lionel Messi’s most likely destination will be Manchester City.
Messi’s current contract expires in June 2021, but it reportedly includes a clause that allows him to leave at the end of any given season should he allow Barcelona a one-month notice in advance
At 33, and entering the final year of his contract, it seems like it is now or never for Messi to switch clubs.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief, Many City supporters have flocked to expressed their thoughts and opinions on this latest update
