Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, with 90 senior caps for England, shared his thoughts on Thomas Tuchel becoming the new permanent England manager in January. Walker praised Tuchel’s ability to manage big players and achieve results, citing his success at clubs like PSG and Chelsea. Tuchel had previously tried to sign Walker for Bayern Munich in 2023, showing his admiration for the player. This could bode well for Walker’s chances of continuing to play regularly for England under Tuchel’s management.
Since joining Pep Guardiola’s side in 2017, Walker has made 308 appearances for Manchester City and won multiple domestic and European trophies. Despite Tuchel’s attempt to sign him in 2023, Walker remained at the Etihad Stadium. With Tuchel now at the helm for England, Walker’s relationship with the new manager could benefit his role in the national team, given Tuchel’s previous interest in the full-back.
