John Stones, the English international center-back, has expressed his gratitude to the Manchester City fans for their unwavering support throughout his time at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite facing challenges with injuries and inconsistency in Pep Guardiola’s squad, Stones has recently regained form and confidence with regular playing time in the last few games across all competitions.

In a conversation with the official Manchester City podcast, Stones shared his appreciation for the fans, describing the special bond he feels with them since joining the club in 2016.

“Sharing the joy of winning (trophies) with supporters is incredible,” said Stones. “I have a love-love relationship with City fans I hope. Even through difficult moments for me they have been there. I always try to give everything and I think City fans appreciate that.”

The 29-year-old continued, “Not every game is easy or goes your way but if they can see the effort and intention and you are playing with heart on sleeve they love that and that’s all I have ever tried to do.

“Making everyone proud is what we’re trying to do. We shared some incredible moments together. Without them we wouldn’t be where we are now. I feel we have clicked and I thank them for that backing.”

Manchester City is set to face Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium followed by fixtures against Newcastle and Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-finals and the Premier League. Additionally, they will travel to Liverpool for a crucial match later in the month.
