Italian international star names current Manchester City defender as footballing inspiration

Italian footballer Raoul Bellanova considers Manchester City’s Kyle Walker as a footballing inspiration, as both players made appearances in the UEFA Champions League Final last season. Bellanova, who now plays for Torino in Serie A, wasn’t retained by Inter Milan for the 2023/24 season and has impressed with 37 appearances for his new club.

Bellanova predominantly plays at right-back, a position held by Walker at Manchester City since 2017. Walker, who has been named captain of City this season, has had a successful career with the club, winning various trophies including the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. He is also expected to represent England in the upcoming European Championships.

Bellanova admires Walker for his physical and technical abilities, mentioning him as someone he has learned from. The two players may potentially face each other in the Euro’s this summer. Although Bellanova used to idolize Inter’s Maicon as a child, he sees himself as a different type of player compared to Walker.
