Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the Citizens have set deadline for the signing of Serie A defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Citizens have been negotiating with Napoli for several weeks over their asking price, with Aurelio De Laurentiis stating clearly in the Italian media that Napoli would deny any offer below €70M plus bonuses.
It is understood the Premier League club had offered as much as £63m, leaving the two clubs far apart in terms of the final fee, and now the Citizens are ready to make a new offer to acquire him.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims City are prepared to raise their offer to €70m plus bonuses, which Napoli would accept and could be done by the weekend.
According to Calcio Napoli 24 as translated by Sport Illustrated the Citizens have decided to wrap up the deal by 15 of September.
However, The reports adds that the Premier League side is still refusing to negotiate directly with Napoli over the history between both clubs.
The club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis who is expected to have the final say, had publicly described the difficulties in the negotiations because of the bad blood that exist between both Club due to the transfer saga of 2018 surrounding Jorginho’s move to Chelsea
