Manchester City have named a 25-man squad for their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, and it does include Joao Cancelo.
In January, it looked like Joao Cancelo had played his last game for the club, leaving for Bayern Munich on loan in acrimonious fashion having fallen down the pecking order.
Bayern opted not to trigger the option to buy Cancelo permanently, meaning he remains a City player and was back at the club this week.
Cancelo has been tipped to leave Man City this summer amid uncertainty over whether he remains in Guardiola’s plans going forward, but a departure is not imminent at present so he join up with the City squad for their tour of Asia.
On Tuesday, he posted a cryptic message about believing in yourself and ‘forgetting the rest’, before being included in the travelling squad for the pre-season squad on Wednesday.
If he cannot secure a move away, he could be in line to face former loan club Bayern next week in Tokyo.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
