Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that, Mikel Oyarzabal, 22, has been touted as a possible transfer target for City as Leroy Sane replacement.
The winger has been a regular in Real Sociedad’s first team for four years now, despite his young age. He has been in superb form this season, and has drawn plaudits for his improvement year-on-year.
According to Mundo Deportivo a ‘fear has been reborn’ for Real Sociedad; that City will come for Oyarzabal this summer after selling Leroy Sané to Bayern Munich.
Mundo say Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan and is ‘in love with his game’, while the rest of City’s hierarchy are aware of him because of their Gipuzkoa roots.
Oyarzabal has a deal until 2024 which includes a release clause of €75m, a fee that would have to be paid in full. Oyarzabal arrived at La Real as a 15 year old and made his debut at 18.
Oyarzabal, who arrived at La Real as a 15 year old, has a long-term contract until 2024 and is said to be very happy at the club.
