Gabriel Jesus looks set to leave Manchester City this summer with Arsenal, Tottenham and a clutch of Serie A club keen on the Brazilian striker
Jesus has largely been a peripheral figure at City, mostly playing second fiddle to Sergio Aguero since he made the switch from Palmeiras in 2016. However, after the club failed to replace the Argentine upon his departure at the end of the 2020/21 season he was afforded more opportunities by Pep Guardiola.
But with Erling Haaland set to join the club this summer, Jesus is likely to have be content with a place on the bench if he remans in Manchester. The 25-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract and is widely expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The Brazilian forward has revealed that he intends to make a decision regarding his next step when he returns from holiday.
Speaking after he scored for Brazil against South Korea in a 5-1 win, the striker delivered an update. “I’m looking to see what’s best for me and above all, for my career. From Tuesday, we’ll see what is the best.”
These Gabriel Jesus’ comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
