Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that he would love to sign a world-class attacker this summer – which have raise eyebrows amongst some of the club’s fans.
Pep Guardiola appears to have fuel speculation that the newly-crowned Premier League champions could go all out to land Tottenham’s wantaway striker Harry Kane.
The 27-year-old is believed to be angling for a move after informing the north London club of his desire to seek a new challenge ahead of next season.
The England captain is one of the best strikers in the world and has remained loyal to Spurs all his career. Europe’s top teams have targeted him for much of his time in London, but he always wanted to win trophies with Spurs.
After Jose Mourinho failed to achieve success, he seems to have given up on that happening at Spurs and Manchester City is one of the few Premier League teams who can sign him as they look to replace Sergio Aguero.
But Guardiola has refused to specifically address links between his club and Kane, but he said in a recent interview that he says Manchester City are in the market to sign a new 30-goal striker to replace Sergio Aguero, but doesn’t want his team’s goalscoring burden to fall on a single player.
Guardiola said via Sun Sports: “I’d love to have a striker who got 50 goals a season honestly but I don’t like to put all the pressure on one player.
“At Barcelona Lionel Messi, every season since he was born, scored 50 a season. Thierry Henry scored a lot in the first season, Samuel Eto’o scored a lot – what a striker.
“To win titles, especially the premier league, with one guy [scoring goals], you can’t win. The statistics speak for themselves, you need three guys with more than 10 goals to be competitors. When you have a guy who can score 25 or 30 it helps a lot, honestly…”
“We will try for the way we play everybody being involved and scoring goals. Raheem scores, Riyad, Gundogan, Foden has this quality, Sergio, Gabriel, the more players we have of this quality the better we will be.”
These Guardiola’s comments have got some Man City fans talking, who took to the social media to express yours thoughts and opinions.

Pep fancies a strikerless system…thats the point…City might as well go the whole of next season without a striker …its a balanced system.
