Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims AC Milan are one of the teams interested in signing Raheem Sterling this summer.
Sterling could be the subject of transfer interest this summer, with clubs looking to capitalise on his devalued price, and he has been linked with a move to AC Milan in the last week.
The attacker’s current contract at the Etihad expires in 2023, meaning he could begin negotiations about a potential free move away from City in just nine months’ time.
According to Calciomercato.it, Sterling is one of the players most closely monitored by several major clubs because his performances have been increasingly inconsistent and he has been relegated to a role off the bench in recent weeks.
The report states that one of the Italian clubs that are monitoring the situation of Sterling is Milan, who are currently in the midst of a takeover process, with hedge fund owners Elliott Management Corporation in talks with Bahrain-based group Investcorp.
Pep Guardiola would like to ‘revolutionise’ his attack in view of next season at Manchester City with links to the likes of Erling Haaland, and that could mean that Sterling is bumped further down the hierarchy and could get even less playing time.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

“I am tired of blindly protecting our players. That isn’t going to help is get to the next level. The truth is that Sterling is simply not good enough for our goals.”

“Assuming Alvarez is going to be used as an inside forward cutting in from left? Either way he’s been a great signing but makes total sense to go now. Clubs need to keep fresh, not worth what he thinks with new contract. Only concern is lack of money outside of Europe”

“If we get anything near what we bought him for then that would be great he has been a unbelievable signing numbers wise but I always thought that when sane left he wasn’t the same player anymore as he lost that repetitive goal of sane getting in behind and cutting it across.”
