Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Riyad Mahrez is close to extending his contract until 2025.
The 31-year-old is now entering the final year of his contract and there has been whispers in the media about a potential exit from the club, given that City are continuously looking to sharpen their attack with new recruits.
With departure of Gabriel Jesus and the imminent departure of Raheem Sterling, Mahrez will again play a vital role for the club next season, which should see him guaranteed more game time, should he remain fit.
A new report suggests that the club are now in talk to extend his deal, with the negotiations progressing and heading in the right direction.
According to the latest information from l’equipe, Mahrez is close to extending his Manchester City contract until 2025.
The report points out that by entering the final year of contract with Manchester City, Mahrez had attracted the interest from several clubs, including Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain.
However, it’s now ‘most likely’ that he’ll stay at Pep Guardiola’s side, as the discussions about a new deal are now ‘about to conclude’.
