With his future at the Etihad in doubt, the 26-year-old is set for talks with Guardiola next month.

John Stones with confidence is as good as Laporte and the way he helps build attacks is invaluable.— Silva Linings (@Mohsen289) July 9, 2020

Why not ? We can sold Otamendi and buy Koulibaly and still keep Stones as second backup. As long as Garcia is the first backup I’m fully ok with this.— Foden/Garcia MCFC (@FodenAndGarcia) July 9, 2020
On his day, amazing centre back! Let’s not forget our longest win streak was with him and Laporte then injuries and doubt has plagued him! Injuries are a worry for his future.— Colin (@BeckettColin) July 10, 2020
‘I would actually love for him to stay, 17/18 season we was amazing and the beginning of 18/19. He’s still a great back up to have. And let’s be real, if we want a winger, left back and striker we’re not gonna get 2 CBs”, claimed one fan.
while another asked, “Otamendi and Fernandinho being gone who’s going to replace them?”
Another tweet said:”Alot of people acting like the season is over and start thinking about the transfers, We still have the FA cup and the CL , We need our players to be focused and we need stones to go big in this stage of the season”
