Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that Riyad Mahrez is ‘trying to convince’ Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer of Etihad move after Pep Guardiola phone call.
The 22-year-old Algerian has impressed for the Italian giants in Serie A this season, making 21 starts in his first year at the San Siro.
According to recent reports, Guardiola is said to be extremely keen on bringing the AC Milan midfielder and have made it a personal mission to convince him to move to the Etihad.
The reports by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sempre Milan) state that Guardiola has ‘fallen in love’ with the 22-year-old, with €50 million (£45.1 million) appearing to be the benchmark for the price of the Algerian, a figure that it is said Guardiola could spend.
Le10 Sport report on Tuesday claim Riyad Mahrez is ‘doing his best to convince his compatriot to come’.
According to WhoScored, Bennacer averages 2.3 tackles per 90 in front of the back four – even more than Fernandinho managed during his fine 2018/2019 season in that role.
