Manchester City’s right-back Issa Kabore has attracted interest from clubs in the UEFA Champions League who are willing to pay a substantial transfer fee for him. Despite returning for pre-season training with the squad, Kabore was notably left out of their USA tour squad, with Rico Lewis filling in at right-back for the opening pre-season friendly against Celtic.
The exclusion of Kabore from the squad may be due to the increased interest in him from potential suitors. Galatasaray is reportedly prepared to pay a £15 million transfer fee for the Burkina Faso international, although negotiations are ongoing to lower the sell-on clause from 20% to 12%. Following an impressive loan spell in La Liga, there were calls for Couto to secure a place in Manchester City’s first-team squad. However, it is likely that a permanent exit will be sanctioned this summer if a club meets the player’s valuation set by Manchester City.
