Manchester City’s right-back Issa Kabore has attracted interest from clubs in the UEFA Champions League who are willing to pay a substantial transfer fee for him. Despite returning for pre-season training with the squad, Kabore was notably left out of their USA tour squad, with Rico Lewis filling in at right-back for the opening pre-season friendly against Celtic.

The exclusion of Kabore from the squad may be due to the increased interest in him from potential suitors. Galatasaray is reportedly prepared to pay a £15 million transfer fee for the Burkina Faso international, although negotiations are ongoing to lower the sell-on clause from 20% to 12%. Meanwhile, Manchester City’s highly-rated right-back Yan Couto is also garnering attention, with Borussia Dortmund being the most interested club in potentially signing him.

Following an impressive loan spell in La Liga, there were calls for Couto to secure a place in Manchester City’s first-team squad. However, it is likely that a permanent exit will be sanctioned this summer if a club meets the player’s valuation set by Manchester City. Interest in both Kabore and Couto highlights the quality and potential of Manchester City’s young right-back options.
