Manchester City has decided to send Kayky on a loan deal to Europe as they believe his future is best suited away from the club. The 21-year-old suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury while on loan at Bahia, leading to a lengthy recovery process that affected his development at the club.
Kayky joined Manchester City in the summer of 2021 for a reported fee of €10 million, with potential additional fees of €15 million. His time at the club has been inconsistent, with loan moves to Pacos de Ferreira and Bahia following his senior debut under Pep Guardiola.
The Premier League champions are set to send Kayky on loan for the upcoming season, with Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam and Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk being the most interested clubs in acquiring him. Kayky recently visited Manchester City’s academy for rehabilitation from his injury and discussions about his future away from the Etihad Stadium.
