Manchester City icon and former club captain Richard Dunne is of the opinion that Erling Haaland will eventually make a transfer to Real Madrid at some point in his career.

Despite being contracted to Manchester City until 2027, the 23-year-old has been the subject of continuous transfer speculation linking him to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Norwegian international, who has been in contract extension talks with Manchester City, has had an impressive 18 months in the Premier League, scoring 52 goals in 53 matches during last season’s treble-winning campaign.

Haaland made his first City start since early December on Monday evening and is looking to win the Premier League title this season with the Sky Blues.

Although Guardiola desires for Haaland to stay at Manchester City for a significant period and break more goalscoring records, Richard Dunne, a former City star, believes that Haaland will eventually be eyeing a move to Real Madrid after achieving everything he can with Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.

In comments relayed by DAZN, Dunne predicted that Haaland will be looking for a future move to Real Madrid after staying at Manchester City for another two seasons.

He stated that Haaland has enjoyed his time at City but believes that his wishes would probably be to move on from the club over the next two to three years.

Dunne, who spent nine years at Manchester City between 2000 and 2009, making 352 appearances, believes that Haaland has already achieved a lot with City and would likely be looking for a new challenge at Real Madrid.

Haaland’s potential move to Real Madrid is something that Dunne sees as a possibility in the coming years.
