Kalvin Phillips, who has played alongside top-level players at Manchester City, left the club to join Ipswich Town on loan in order to gain more playing time. Phillips recently praised Erling Haaland, ranking him above Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane for his goalscoring ability, stating that he has never seen anything like him. Fellow City player, Shaun Wright-Phillips, also described Haaland as unique, highlighting his ability to score goals and improve his all-around game.
City signed Haaland in the same window they signed Phillips, paying £51m for the striker who has since scored 101 goals in 108 matches, winning trophies and breaking records along the way. Phillips and Wright-Phillips’ admiration for Haaland’s talent further underscore his exceptional qualities as a player always striving to improve and succeed.
