Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have agreed terms with Erling Haaland’s representatives.

Pep Guardiola has been pushing for the signing of a top-class striker for a while now, and after narrowly missing out on Harry Kane last summer, City are set to make one of the biggest moves of the year to show they mean business.

Haaland has been prolific during his time at Borussia Dortmund and has emerged as a global star. Now, it looks as though he’s set to ply his trade in England for the first time.

According to Mike Keegan via Daily Mail, Manchester City have agree terms with Haaland’s representatives, which would make Haaland the Premier League’s highest-paid player on more than £500,000 a week.

The report states City are now expected to trigger Erling Haaland’s £63M release clause at Borussia Dortmund and, if all goes according to plan, what is likely to be a five-year deal should be sealed in the next week or so.

As per the report, Man City have remained quietly confident throughout the Erling Haaland process and are now closing in on the player Pep Guardiola craves.

If the deal does materialise, it would stand to be the signing of the year so far, and more major developments are set to follow next week.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
