Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports to another update on the club’s interest in Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli.
Locatelli, 23, joined Sassuolo from AC Milan in 2018, initially on loan before making his switch permanent last year in a transfer which cost the Serie A club £11.25m, as per Transfermarkt.
The $38.50m-rated midfielder has developed into one of the best central midfielders in Serie A. Despite a decent two seasons with Sassuolo, Locatelli could be set for a big move.
Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that City are already eyeing up a summer deal for Locatelli, which would cost around £30million.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Citizens are monitoring the Italian, but however their interest has yet turn into a real attempt to acquire him and Sassuolo are highly unlikely to sell him in January.
As per ESPN Commentator and Studio Analyst today, Locatelli is a Pep Guardiola player through and through.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions, with many excited to see Locatelli at the Etihad as Fernandinho replacement.
Getting rave reviews over in Italy and valued at £30M? He’s worth a punt because Rodri may not be the answer..

Letting Ferna go at the end of the season and bringing this guy in for 30M seems like clever business. I like him way more than Zakaria anyway, he had too many injuries and didn’t look like a holding midfielder. Also I hope Doyle will still have a place in the team.

Look at them stats, that is unreal 😳
Could be a great player once Fernandinho sadly leaves, but this man definitely has all the abilities that Pep would love to have. He slides tackles well, make chances, make long passes, and more importantly, a strong mentality at the age of 22. Could be the next big thing 🤩 https://t.co/C9DIT8MBx8 pic.twitter.com/JVUCHllyor

Is Manuel Locatelli the perfect Fernandinho replacement for Manchester City?
Manchester City will surely be in the market for a new striker at the end of the season, but other areas will be targeted for strengthening. A new holding midfielder may be needed given that Fernandinho is out of contract and could leave on a free transfer.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign and even if he does pen fresh terms, one more season is likely all that City can ask of the 35-year-old.
Replacing Fernandinho is not going to be an easy task but Locatelli could help fill the void if will leave. Indeed, the Italian would be open to a move at the end of the season.

I truly appreciate your post. Great site!
