Manchester City have made several moves in the 2024 summer transfer window, including a £33m deal for Savinho and re-signing Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer from Barcelona. Reports had linked the club to FC Copenhagen striker Orri Oskarsson as a potential backup for Erling Haaland, but Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Oskarsson is set to join Real Sociedad for €20m. With Oskarsson’s promising goal-scoring record for Copenhagen’s U19 and senior teams, City may regret not signing him, especially as Haaland has been in top form at the start of the season.

Having scored 42 goals in 41 games for Copenhagen’s U19 team and 23 goals in 62 senior appearances, Oskarsson’s talent caught City’s attention. However, with Haaland performing well for City, the decision not to sign Oskarsson may lead to regrets if he continues to excel in Spain. City will hope Haaland stays fit and continues his goal-scoring form, but Oskarsson’s potential success at Sociedad could highlight a missed opportunity for City in the transfer market this summer.
