Erling Haaland earns just shy of an eye-watering £900,000 per week at Manchester City, according to a new report.
The Premier League champions signed Haaland in a £51million deal from Borussia Dortmund this summer – a fee that was seen as representing tremendous value for money for arguably the most decisive player in world football.
Haaland’s Man City salary had until now been the subject of speculation, but details on his contract has emerge that make him the best-paid footballer in the world.
According to an exclusive report from Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail, Erling Haaland is earning ‘close to’ £900,000 per week at Manchester City.
As highlighted by the report, such a pay package makes the Norway international ‘by far’ the highest-paid player in England.
As per the report, Erling Haaland receives a basic salary which is in line with the other higher earners at the Etihad Stadium, including the likes of Kevin De Bruyne.
However, a series of ‘substantial’ and ‘almost-guaranteed’ bonuses see Haaland’s weekly wage ‘surge’ beyond the £850,000 mark.
The Norway international has scored an incredible 14 goals across his first eight Premier League matches for Pep Guardiola’s side.
He has also scored five goals in three Champions League games having arrived at the Etihad this summer for an initial £51m, which could rise to £85.5m in total.
