Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has heaped praise on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and insists the attacker is as good as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
Haaland has been in fine form in the Premier League since he joined City this season and he is not showing any signs of slowing down.
He and Vlahovic were considered two of the best young centre forwards when the Juve man played for Fiorentina.
The Serbian, who was heavily linked with a move to Man City, secured a big money transfer to the Allianz Stadium, but he has not been scoring as the EPL top scorer.
Mitrovic, who is Vlahovic’s national teammate believes that the Serbian would enjoy just as much success in Guardiola’s side.
He believe Vlahovic has not been receiving the type of service Haaland has been getting from his City teammates so far, that is why his numbers are down.
“He would certainly score even more than that at Juventus, then I don’t know if the numbers would be identical to those of Haaland, who is already 15 goals in the Premier,” he says via Tuttojuve.
“Dusan is a top player, young but already very strong. Haaland and Vlahovic will be the strikers of the next decade.”
Just as Mitrovic, Alan Shearer recently claimed Harry Kane would enjoy just as much success in Guardiola’s side.
“It could all have been very different if Pep Guardiola got his way last season and they’d signed Harry Kane,” Shearer wrote in The Athletic. “There might not have been room for Haaland and he may have been carrying out these incredible goalscoring feats somewhere else. But if Harry was in this City team, he would be scoring as many goals as Erling has.”
However, Guardiola says he isn’t sure what would have happened if his club did manage to recruit Kane. “I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t have the ability to know what would happen if Harry Kane was here. Alan was a striker maybe he knows better than me.”
Haaland has stormed ahead in the race for the Golden Boot – and is already only eight strikes away from the 23-goal tally that Salah and Son Heung-min clocked up last year.
