Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha has been subjected to racist abuse online and the 28-year-old shared screenshots of some of the comments after Saturdayâs 2-0 Premier League win over Manchester City.
Zaha scored the opening goal as Palace won 2-0 at the Etihad on Saturday, and the Ivorian was also involved in the incident which saw City defender Aymeric Laporte sent off for a professional foul.
After the game, Zaha revealed sickening racist abuse sent to him as he called on social media networks to take action.
The Palace winger, 28, posted a series of screengrabs in which he was called a ân*****â, a âmonkeyâ and a âchimpâ in private messages sent to him on Instagram.
âThis message isnât for me to get a million messages saying we stand with you and itâs disgusting or about me getting sympathy,â Zaha posted on his Instagram story.
âIâm not here for all the nonsense that is being done instead of fixing the actual problem!
âI donât mind abuse because nowadays it comes with doing the job I do even though itâs not an excuse but my colour will always be the real problem but itâs fine because Iâll always be BLACK AND PROUD!
âSpeak to me when you actual take this issue serious.â
In reaction to the news, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions, with many standing in solidarity with Zaha.

I was mad about his actions in the game and how provoking he was towards the City players, but this is just wrong on so many levels!! I stand in solidarity with Zaha.

Disgusting whoever it is

Disgusting. You have no business supporting City (nevermind any club) if you do anything of the like.

Not seen the screen shots anywhere. Do we have the names of them and we can send to the club to ban them for life. Be curious to see how many are match going fans or just bots online
