Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report of the club’s interest in Real Sociedad star Mikel Oyarzabal.
A product of the Real Sociedad youth academy, the Spaniard has enjoyed stellar success ever since making his breakthrough during the 2015/16 campaign.
The Sociedad winger has been a target of Pep Guardiola before and could be brought in to replace possible departures.
In a recent report, Eurosport has stated that Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal is on Manchester City‘s radar this summer. It is understood that Man City have identified the Spanish wing wizard as a summer target as Pep Guardiola looks to freshen up his squad ahead of the new campaign.
According to Mundo Deportivo via Sport_Witness, Txiki Begiristain has a ‘special fixation’ with Real Sociedad forward, Mikel Oyarzabal and the Man City director values the ‘quality and character’ of the player.
The 24-year-old featured 33 times for his club in La Liga last season, scoring 11 times in the process, at an average of a goal every three games.
Pep Guardiola reportedly was on the verge of moving for Oyarzabal last summer before opting for Ferran Torres instead.
The Eibar-born talent is under contract at the Reale Arena until the summer of 2024, so Man City will have to make a sizable offer to stand a chance of acquiring his services during this summer transfer window.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters, who took to the social media platform to share their thoughts and opinions.

This is another average player like Rodri.

Could we stop signing average player? He's nowhere city level. We are one of the best team rn. We should get all the best player as much as we can? Tired to see us behave like mediocre team

Eh. He's decent but he's not City quality. We also don't need another left footed winger

People will hate on him but he’d genuinely be a great signing.

doubt this happens but he is fantastic, would be a great signing

Hes an amazing player, if villa want 100 for grealish makes perfect sense to sign him for 65ish
— lasr (@lasr4721) June 22, 2021
Watched him a couple of times. Hes decent, won't be adding anything to the team but won't be taking anything away either… Basically I think he's a rotation squad player for us.
