Manchester City have had a challenging start to the 2024/25 season with four key players sidelined due to injuries. Star playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is expected to be out until after the international break with a thigh issue. Defensive midfielder Rodri is facing a lengthy absence after tearing his ACL and suffering meniscus damage, ruling him out for at least nine months. Nathan Ake picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty and won’t return until after the next international break, while Oscar Bobb suffered a fractured leg in training before the season began and is expected to be out until December.

Despite the setbacks, Manchester City managed to secure a 4-0 victory in the Champions League and will now focus on getting back to winning ways in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola’s side will face Fulham on Saturday and will need to rely on their depth to cope with the absence of key players. With potential return dates ranging from October to June 2025, City will have to navigate through a challenging period without some of their top performers, testing their squad depth and resilience.
