Manchester City has several players with experience playing for England, such as Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Phil Foden, who all played in the 2024 European Championship. Kalvin Phillips also named Foden as the best player he’s played with, while Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis have been involved in recent Three Lions matches. With Thomas Tuchel set to become the next permanent England manager in January, pundit Darren Bent predicts that Tuchel may not hesitate to bench Foden if his performances for England do not meet expectations.

During England’s recent matches, Foden struggled against Greece and was subsequently benched for the Finland game. Former player Paul Robinson noted that Foden and Jude Bellingham seemed to be getting in each other’s way during the Greece match. With Bent’s prediction in mind, Foden will need to impress Tuchel to secure a regular place in the England squad and prove that he can perform at his best on the international stage.
