Manchester City have made significant profits by selling multiple players in previous transfer windows, including Julian Alvarez for a club-record fee of £81m to Atletico Madrid. Despite losing several players, pundit Darren Bent has praised Liam Delap, who was sold by City to Ipswich Town for £20m last summer. Delap has impressed in the Premier League, scoring four goals in seven matches and earning a season rating of 6.74/10 from WhoScored.
Delap, who scored 35 goals in 36 appearances for City’s U21 team, also had successful loan spells at clubs like Preston North End, Stoke City, and Hull City. Bent believes City may have missed out on a talented striker by selling Delap, who has been a standout performer for Ipswich this season.
