Manchester City, under the management of Pep Guardiola, have achieved success on both the domestic and European stages, winning multiple league and European titles. Despite not being eager to win a fifth consecutive Premier League title, Guardiola is leading the team in pursuit of more silverware this season. Danny Murphy has pointed out a drop in form for Jack Grealish, suggesting that other players offer more in terms of assists and goals, putting his starting position in the England team at risk. Grealish has started the season fairly prominently for City, making important contributions to the team in terms of assists, carries into the penalty area, and key passes.
Murphy also noted that Grealish needs to emulate his outstanding performance during City’s Treble-winning season to secure his place in the first XI for England. Guardiola had previously highlighted Grealish’s excellent physical condition during the pre-season, which has likely contributed to his positive start to the campaign. The English winger will need to rediscover his best form to maintain his position in the squad and continue to be a key player for City in their quest for further success.
