Manchester City have got used to seeing big-name players leave the club to start new chapters elsewhere. For example, previous summer transfer windows have seen the likes of Julian Alvarez, Joao Cancelo, Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling, among others, wave goodbye to the Etihad Stadium on permanent deals.
Another player City have cashed in on in recent memory is Cole Palmer, who joined Chelsea during the 2023 summer transfer window after making just 41 senior appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side.
