Former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele recently shared his thoughts on creating the ultimate football player by combining the traits of three Manchester City stars – Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, and Bernardo Silva.
Makelele, when asked by Goal’s TikTok account, revealed that he would choose Haaland for his speed, De Bruyne for his strength, and Silva for his football intelligence. He also included Kylian Mbappe for his left foot, Ousmane Dembele for his right foot, and Marco Verratti for his skills in his dream player.
While some may question De Bruyne’s inclusion for his strength, it is undeniable that Haaland and Silva possess exceptional qualities in their own right. Haaland recently scored five goals against Luton Town, bringing his total to 27 goals in 30 appearances this season. De Bruyne, after returning from injury, has contributed 2 goals and 12 assists in 12 matches. Silva, while quieter in recent weeks, has still managed to provide 13 goal contributions in 33 games.
Despite Silva signing a new contract last year, reports suggest that there is a release clause allowing him to leave for around £50m this summer. This has raised doubts about his future at Manchester City.
Overall, Makelele’s dream player showcases the diverse talents of some of the top footballers in the world. It is clear that each of the City trio – Haaland, De Bruyne, and Silva – have made significant impacts this season, contributing to their team’s success and attracting attention from fans and clubs alike.
