The Champions League will see major changes in the 2024/25 season, with the group stage being replaced by a league phase and an expanded number of teams. Manchester City will face added fixtures with the Club World Cup in 2025. Teams will play eight matches against different opponents, with the top eight automatically qualifying for the round of 16 and teams ranked 9th to 24th competing in play-offs. City, as champions of England, are in pot one for the draw.
The league phase draw will take place on August 29, with the competition starting on September 17 and the final scheduled for May 31 at the Allianz Arena in Germany. The winners will receive the iconic Champions League trophy and a cash prize. City won their first Champions League title in 2023, and will aim to reclaim it in the upcoming season.
