Manchester City fans react as Julian Alvarez happy to have completed his move to the Etihad.
The 22-year-old forward moved to Manchester City for a fee worth around £14.2m plus add-ons but will remain on loan with River Plate until July at the earliest.
The Argentine International has spoken for the first time on his impending move to Manchester prior to a pre-season friendly against Velez Sarsfield on Saturday
“I’m happy. Talk to my representative, the clubs talked and it happened,” he told ESPN Futbol Argentina, via Albiceleste Talk, ahead of the 0-0 draw.
“I already spoke with Guardiola, a little chat. I’m an admirer of him. He welcomed me and was happy because I joined his project.”
“He [Guardiola] welcomed me, congratulated me on what I had done, and that he was happy that I was joining the Manchester City project for these years.”
These Julian Alvarez’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
